DIGITAL GOVERNANCE THE WAY I WANT FOR MY COUNTRY

Digital governance is a broad term that could technically include any governance using computers and software, but the overarching concept is using digitization to align technology, people and governance processes to improve operational efficiency and meet government goals.

Cloud and mobile are also important aspects of the digital governance, because these technologies can assure that government information is available 24/7 remotely, and mitigate/remove geographic barriers from collaboration and work processes.

The government workforce is increasingly populated with digitally literate employees, from frontline workers to top-level executives. The digital governance is a government strategy to boost employee engagement and agility through a more consumerized work environment. The digital governance promotes collaborative work styles; supports decentralized, mobile work environments; and embraces employees' personal choice of technologies.

 Access to govt documents. Citizen need the flexibility to choose the most effective way to access government applications wherever they work. Smartphones and tablets are increasingly becoming a necessity, so government need to rethink their e-governance strategies based on citizen needs. Should they provide these governance to employees or let them bring their own to work?

Communications infrastructure. Strong connectivity remains a crucial requirement in the digital governance, both in the office and on the road; it is fundamental to ensuring that the communications technologies and government and collaboration applications driving governance today function effectively. Government networks need to be equipped to handle simultaneous voice, video, and data communication, both in and outside the government network.

Digital security. The convergence of cloud computing, social media, and mobile computing technologies has created data security issues worldwide. However, new technologies now allow government to store information securely in the cloud and make it accessible from various devices. The correct solution enables offline data access and seamless peer-to-peer activities among devices. Indeed, private cloud environments have enabled many organizations to increase agility and reduce costs—while also boosting security.
